This project is all about showcasing the rhetoric skills that we have learned. By picking a topic that we are passionate about, we will construct a 5-8 minute speech that is informational and engaging. We should not pick a topic that is far beyond our knowledge, but a problem that we can effectively persuade the audience to believe needs urgent solving. This speech must be planned out, and it is important to have a strong organization that includes a description of the issue as well as our plan of action for solving it- complete with pros and cons. References are still necessary, and there must be at least three, APA formatted. This project, however, is not complete with out visual aid: a picture, powerpoint, or something of your own creativity. Apart from the actual speech, we must write a "Reflection" describing how we use our skills in the speech in order to make it effective.
Questions:
-Is the references page something we incorporate in the visual aid? or do we print it out? or upload to ICON?
-Does a poster, like in the reading, work for our visual aid?
-How do we avoid being didactic?
